Harrach won Historic Vltava 2011, Janota is European Champion

Pošumavský auto moto klub Klatovy: Frank Cunningham on the track of Historic Vltava Rallye

The very last special stage made no change to the final result of the Historic Vltava Rallye 2011. Both leading pairs slowed down a bit in the last parts of the rallye and focused on successfull finishing the competition. Ernst Harrach and Leopold Welserheimb are the winning pair of the 20th Historic Rallye Vltava. Second place for Miroslav Janota and Pavel Dresler was enough for them to secure the European Champions title in category 2. Further info related to the competition included into various different championships is released via www.vltavarallye.cz.

No surprises were to be seen during the last parts of 20th Historic Rallye Vltava. The fastest pairs were aware of their position and it was easy to secure them. So there was a plenty of space for other drivers to gain some smaller success. German Reinhard Hainbach was the biggest star of the last section, he was the fastest man twice and moved up to top 12 despite the huge loss from Friday. The first trio to successfully handled the whole track and were rewarded with a massive ovation from the crowd around the finish line. Austrians Ernst Harrach and Leopold Welserheimb with Mitsubishi Lancer 2000 Turbo are the winning pair. Frank Cunningham and Forde Ross from Ireland driving Ford Escort Mk II are third. Probably the happiest are Miroslav Janota and Pavel Dresler, who finished second, what was enough for them to become new European Champions in category 2. Janota driving Opel Kadett Coupe also won the national championship. Jan Krejča with Škoda 130 LR ended right behind Janota and was fourth in overall standings. 28 cars finished the last SS.
The results are yet to be official and need to be confirmed by stewards.
